Mountain Biking Extravaganza!

The new mountain bike has been a BIG hit!  Sara Rose had already gained a lot of self confidence with her old bicycle, but the new one has bigger wheels, has hand brakes, and seven speed grip shift.  Sara Rose immediately figured out how to use the brakes and the gears and has ridden everyday since Christmas.  Christmas day she rode while Nan went running.  The 26th the whole family went riding.  And then today Sara Rose and Nan went riding together.  Altogether Sara Rose has ridden about eighteen miles since Christmas.  We hope to instill in her the importance of nutrition and fitness and this bicycle is a great start.  It is so fun to see her ride and crash and get up to ride again.  We are fortunate to have the state park at our back door.  We are also lucky to have the beach so close and after lunch we went for a nice hike on the cliffs over by Natural Bridges Park.  So enjoy today's pictures, Santa Cruzin! style.
